Pine Isle Resort
After Dragoncon, Sky and I drove up to Pine Isle Resort on Lake Lanier. It was only a 45 minute drive north of downtown Atlanta.
The resort and lake are very pretty - lots of forested islands and very few buildings around. I guess we picked the slow time of year because the resort only seemed to have a dozen guests at most. It was relaxing and very quiet. We swam in the pool, took several walks, and mostly just took it easy.
On Thursday evening, we drove west to meet up with Dave, Kristen, PJ, and friends. We had a yummy dinner at a Chinese restaurant.
Dragoncon 2005
Sky and I attended Dragoncon in downtown Atlanta, Georgia from September 1-5. Dave, Kristen, and PJ also attended as did several of Dave's friends from Georgia.
Some cool costumes that we saw...We shopped in the dealer's room, watched people walk by in a variety of sci-fi, fantasy, and purely made-up costumes, watched a parade through the streets of Atlanta, and played two live action games - one based on X-files and one based on Babylon 5 (a sci-fi tv show). No, I didn't wear a costume myself - at least not this year. :)
We had a great time and enjoyed looking at all of the costumes. I guess we spent too much time in the dealer's room since we had to go buy an extra suitcase to get all our stuff home. :>

How many Leia's do you need in one parade?We also saw a Crüxshadows concert. They're a goth punk band that Sky and I really like. I also got to have my picture taken with Rogue, the lead singer.
